DRESS CODE
“The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Rêves, and it is only open at night.”
― Erin Morgenstern, The Night Circus
An amazing read, the Cirque des Rêves is the Circus of Dreams mentioned in the book "The Night Circus" by Erin Morganstern. In the book, the circus comes to town with no warning and is only open at night. Although the circus is all black and white, fans or 'Rêveurs' identify themselves by wearing a splash of red.
Our dress code was, therefore 'Black and White with a Splash of Red'
How you choose to interpret this, is always entirely up to you! It is a ball but you are never obliged to wear dinner jackets or gowns - please, however, dress up and wear your dancing shoes!
